Consultations are available at a time to suit you. As a private doctor service we are able to offer you the widest choice of healthcare services unrestricted by NHS policies. We are a listening, friendly service. If you wish, we will write to your NHS GP with a summary of your consultation.
Following your consultation, if necessary, we will arrange a review/follow up appointment at a time to suit you. This will be an opportunity to discuss any health concerns since your previous consultation and also gives an opportunity to discuss the results of any tests you have undergone. GP Referrals Dr Lewis has been working locally in Surrey for the last ten years and has built up a vast knowledge database of the very best local consultants and specialists, should you require one. Patients needing referral covered by medical insurance simply need SurreyGP to refer them by letter after the GP consultation. Prescriptions We provide private prescriptions which can be dispensed at any pharmacy. The cost of commonly prescribed medications is often less than the NHS prescription charge. For our regular patients our repeat prescription service is usually available without a separate appointment. Consultations in the comfort and convenience of your home or office can be arranged to fit in with your schedule. Ear Syringing We have a modern machine at our surgery so that we can provide an ear syringing service. This procedure takes about 15 minutes, and the results speak for themselves! Dr Lewis will advise you about the full range of family planning choices, providing you with information and time to consider your options; tablet and injection contraceptives are available. Referrals for coil fitting or Implants can be arranged with a local gynaecologist. Emergency contraception is available during your appointment. Pre-pregnancy advice is available from Dr. Lewis, she will listen and answer any questions you may have and reassure you where appropriate. If counselling or specialist genetic testing is needed, this can of course be efficiently arranged. Around the menopause many ladies experience nuisance symptoms. We can provide a sympathetic ear whilst outlining both natural and medical treatment options. Cervical smears are an important health screening programme for ladies aged 25-64. The test checks for any unwanted cell changes at the neck of the womb. Please advise us in advance if you require a chaperone. Dr Lewis has a special interest in child and family care. We are very experienced in child health and offer the recommended six week and eight month checks . Often this is a good time to discuss any concerns you have about your baby, baby’s routine and feeding. Is available in the autumn and is highly recommended for patients with asthma, or if you are on long term medication. We offer a corporate service to employers for your employees; we come to your office and immunise your valued employees, reducing the chance of sickness absence from winter flu. We are currently vaccinating people for the Winter 2009/2010 Flu. Flu Jabs are £25 or £20 for existing customers. BOOK NOW Travel Vaccinations We carry a wide range of travel vaccinations suitable for business and leisure travel (MMR, Tetanus, Hepatitis A & B, Yellow Fever etc). Please ring our office for details of prices and vaccination programmes. MMR Single Vaccinations We carry the individual Measles and Rubella Vaccines. Mumps Vaccine is currently out of stock. Please ring for details of prices and vaccination programmes. Cervical Cancer Vaccine This vaccine is newly available and appropriate for ladies between the ages of 9 to 26. It protects against viruses responsible for 70% of cases of cervical cancer. Three separate vaccinations are required, and for maximum protection it is advisable to vaccinate before sexual activity commences. Sexual Health Men may be too embarrassed to talk to their partner about their impotence, but it is often very easily treated, and we are experienced in dealing confidentially after listening to you. Tablet treatments are commonly available, and occasionally a referral to a specialist is necessary. Sexual Health Screening We can arrange confidential screening for both men and women. Rapid HIV testing with results often available on the same day. We offer a family friendly service. We understand,
through experience, that it can be an extremely
worrying time when your children are unwell. We Blood Tests A wide range of blood tests are available including HIV testing. All test results are rapidly available, and of course are confidential. Smoking Cessation We recognise how difficult it is for you to stop smoking. Drug treatment is available together with psychological support. Weight Loss Obesity can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes, breathing difficulties, joint pain and other health problems. It is difficult to commence a weight loss programme yet we give realistic advice on weight management, diet and exercise. Where appropriate we can prescribe medication to assist with weight loss. SurreyGP provides nursing services to our patients - those who require wound care, or leg ulcer treatments are accomodated either at home or in our surgery. Our fully qualified, highly trained and experienced nursing sister can continue your care, arrange care, schedule your treatment, diagnose amongst other services. Leg ulcer treatment is a specialist interest subject but routine wound care / dressing change / bandaging is provided.
